Will the gold colour fade?

PVD gold is far tougher than paint or spray finishes. With normal cleaning it keeps its colour for many years.

It's a gold-coloured titanium-nitride PVD coating on stainless steel. It looks rich but costs much less, and it's more durable than plating.
